The campaign for Democrat Mac Deford, candidate for U.S. Congress in South Carolina’s 1st Congressional District, today announced his most recent endorsement of the Communications Workers of America Union (CWA) Local 3704. This is Deford's third union endorsement, having earned the endorsements of Locals 846 and 848 of the Iron Workers Union earlier this year.
The Communications Workers of America is the largest communications and media labor union in the United States, representing over 700,000 workers in telecommunications, information technology, media, education, healthcare, public service, and other sectors. CWA Local 3704, located in Charleston, is dedicated to protecting the rights and interests of its members, advocating for fair wages, safe working conditions, and policies that ensure job security and economic equality.
"I am deeply honored to receive the endorsement of CWA Local 3704," Deford said. “This endorsement highlights the critical importance of the CWA in championing workers’ rights and securing a fair and just economy for all. As a leading voice for implementing broadband internet across the nation, their advocacy is vital to our future. I am committed to fighting for policies that uplift working families, and that will secure critical investments to our national and community infrastructure. I look forward to collaborating closely with CWA Local 3704 to advance these essential goals for the Lowcountry.”
