Democratic candidate for South Carolina House District 115 Nick Uricchio (pictured) today announced he has received endorsements from four local legislators, including the district’s current representative, Spencer Wetmore.
“I’m truly honored to have the support of these four outstanding leaders,” Uricchio said. “Each has proven to be a strong and effective advocate for our community, and I look forward to working closely with them to address the challenges facing District 115, from infrastructure and flooding to unchecked growth, traffic congestion, and supporting our public schools and teachers.”
The four legislators released the following statements in support of Uricchio’s campaign:
State Senator Ed Sutton
“I am proud to endorse Nick Uricchio. He will be a strong candidate and an even stronger legislator. Nick understands this district because he grew up here and knows the challenges our community faces. We need focused, capable leaders in Columbia who put their constituents first and deliver real results. Nick is exactly that kind of leader, and I will work hard to help him win.”
State Senator Deon Tedder
“I am proud to support Nick because he has the judgment and integrity to do what’s right. We can count on him to stand up for our public schools, invest in infrastructure, and push back against dangerous political extremism. Nick also understands the complexity of the law, which will help him build on Spencer Wetmore’s strong record and be a valuable voice for his district in the State House.”
State Representative Leon Stavrinakis
“I have known Nick Uricchio for many years. As a prosecutor, he helped keep the Lowcountry safe, and as an attorney, he has earned the trust and respect of families throughout our community. He is smart, dependable, and deeply committed to public service. Nick will be an outstanding legislator and leader, and I look forward to working with him.”
State Representative Spencer Wetmore
“I am thrilled that Nick has decided to run and am proud to endorse him. Choosing not to seek re-election was a difficult decision, but knowing that Nick is stepping forward gives me great confidence in the future of this district. He cares deeply about this community and will work tirelessly for the families who call it home. I strongly believe he will win, and I look forward to supporting him in every way I can.”
