The Legal Defense Fund (LDF) today shared a letter from Antonio L. Ingram II, LDF Senior Counsel, addressed to South Carolina Attorney General Alan Wilson. The letter urges the Attorney General’s office to issue a public statement condemning voter intimidation ahead of the upcoming election and reaffirming that voter intimidation is a serious crime under federal and South Carolina law.
This request comes in response to recent reports of organized efforts to harass and intimidate voters during elections. With increasing threats against voters and election officials in the state, the LDF and its partners said they are calling for a firm stance to deter these harmful actions and protect voters from intimidation.
