Today, over thirty law enforcement veterans endorsed David Osborne for 9th Circuit Solicitor which encompasses Charleston and Berkeley Counties. Osborne, a former police officer and detective, has most recently been a prosecutor in the area.
Law enforcement veterans endorsing Osborne stressed the need for an ally in the position who will prosecute violent criminals and advocate for crime victims and their families.
“I’m supporting David Osborne in the Solicitor’s race, because law enforcement needs an ally and a team player in this position, something we aren’t currently getting," said former Charleston Police Chief Jerome Taylor. "I’ve known David for decades. He has the unique experience to have served as a police officer, a detective, and a very successful prosecutor. He is somebody who law enforcement can trust and someone who will work tirelessly for crime victims and their families. David will help make Charleston and Berkeley Counties safer places.”
Osborne, who faces incumbent Scarlett Wilson, said he is honored to receive endorsements from these law enforcement veterans.
“It’s a true honor to have the support of this group of incredibly dedicated law enforcement heroes," he said. "It is past time Charleston and Berkeley Counties had a top prosecutor who was serious about seeking true justice for crime victims, remove politics from the position, and focus on keeping families safe. I will be that prosecutor. I will dedicate my time in this office being a tireless advocate for families and end Scarlett Wilson’s soft on violent offenders’ policies."
