Today, KJ Atwood, a Democratic candidate for the South Carolina House of Representatives in District 110, officially filed for office and released his initial priorities.
He also plans to host District 110 Community Conversations in the coming days to help inform his agenda and hear directly from residents across the district.
“At this point, South Carolina needs leadership that reflects the realities families are living through,” said Atwood. “My generation is being priced out, squeezed by rising costs, and asked to accept a government that too often protects the comfort of insiders instead of delivering practical results for all of us. District 110 deserves a representative who shows up, listens, and follows through.”
Atwood’s priorities for District 110 are to:
Make life affordable
Atwood will focus on the costs families and small businesses struggle to plan around, including housing affordability and availability, and healthcare expenses.
Accountable government that delivers
Atwood will prioritize transparency, ethics, and responsive constituent service, with a focus on clear standards, follow through, and measurable results rather than political performance.
Protect the district’s future
Atwood will focus on practical, forward-looking solutions that protect District 110’s quality of life, including infrastructure and resilience investments that reduce flood risk and long-term costs, environmental preparedness that safeguards the Lowcountry’s way of life, and common-sense protections against scams and fraud that increasingly target families and small businesses.
“These priorities are a starting point,” Atwood added. “Over the coming weeks, I will be out across the district meeting and listening to my neighbors and our community leaders, learning more about our unique challenges, discussing solutions, and building a campaign rooted in the real needs of District 110.”
District 110 Community Conversations
Atwood will begin planning a set of informal community conversations across District 110. Dates and locations will be posted at kjatwood.com and shared on campaign social media channels.
