GREENVILLE - The “Let Us Pray” Regional Prayer Breakfast Series will make its next stop in Greenville on Friday, September 18, 2026, at 9:00 a.m., hosted by the Enoree River Baptist Association at its center on Dallas Road. The gathering continues a community-driven initiative organized in support of Dr. Jermaine Johnson, the Democratic nominee for Governor of South Carolina, that brings together faith leaders, community members, and residents for fellowship and collective prayer.
The Greenville breakfast marks the series’ expansion into the Upstate following events already held across the Pee Dee region. Each stop is built around the same simple premise: neighbors gathering over a shared meal to pray for South Carolina, for their local communities, for families, and for those who serve in public leadership.
The series takes its theme from James 5:16 - “The effective, fervent prayer of a righteous man availeth much.” Organizers say that verse shapes both the tone and the purpose of each gathering.
“This series is not about a podium, it is about a table. When people sit down together and pray for their neighbors, their schools, and their state, something changes in the room and it carries out into the community,” said Dr. Johnson. “We are grateful to the Enoree River Baptist Association for opening its doors to the Upstate.”
Organizers describe the series as an outgrowth of a grass-roots approach to community building - one that works through local ministries and established faith networks rather than around them. This series is especially close to Dr. Johnson’s heart as he serves as a Deacon at his church, St. John Baptist Church in Hopkins. Additional regional stops will be announced as the series continues across the state.
