Republican Jack Ellison, candidate for U.S. Congress in South Carolina’s First Congressional District, announced today that he is ending his campaign, calling the decision difficult but necessary and pledging to remain engaged in service to the Lowcountry.
“After careful consideration, I have decided to end my candidacy for South Carolina’s First Congressional District,” Ellison said. “This was not an easy decision, but it is the right one.”
“I believe service must be rooted in discipline, responsibility, and follow-through,” he added. “At this point, the most responsible course is to focus on the commitments where I can make the greatest immediate contribution while continuing to serve the community in meaningful ways.”
