On Saturday, March 7, from 1 to 3 p.m., a International Women's Day March and Rally will be held at Quarterman Park in North Charleston in observance of International Women’s Day.
Organizers describe the event as “a peaceful, permitted assembly to protest unlawful actions by the Trump administration to consolidate power in the executive branch — actions not granted by the U.S. Constitution and not approved by Congress.” They further state that the actions they oppose are “authoritarian in nature” and harmful to women.
Organizers said participants are “gathering to demand respect for all three branches of government, the passing of the ERA and women’s rights, as well as for the rule of law and the United States Constitution.”
Additional information about the event is available on the Women’s March website. Quarterman Park is located at 1126 Buist Ave
