Former South Carolina Democratic Party Chair Trav Robertson (pictured) issued the following statement announcing his support for Sylvia Wright, candidate for South Carolina Superintendent of Education:
“My mother taught school for 48 years and she often said, public education for all, is the greatest promise of our Democracy. Sylvia represents the success of that promise. Wearing the uniform, her father instilled in her the belief that education is the foundation upon which to build a future. Her mother, a customer service agent for BellSouth, taught her how to deal with people. Those lessons enabled her to teach our kids and work with parents to create a partnership for educating kids. She is a real teacher, with real life experience in bringing people together for our children. This is what South Carolina needs, and this is why I am voting for her! If you care about education in SC, there is no choice but Sylvia Wright.”
