Lt. Governor Pamela Evette's campaign responded to reports of Rep. Nancy Mace cursing at and berating law enforcement at the Charleston International Airport by releasing a video (posted below) condemning her actions.
The campaign stated that Mace’s outburst, detailed in a police report, is another chapter in a pattern of arrogance, entitlement, and disrespect Mace has shown towards law enforcement and the voters she represents.
“We knew it'd only take time before South Carolina saw Nancy Mace's true colors,” said Evette campaign spokesperson Matthew Goins. “She doesn't care about the rule of law, the brave men and women in law enforcement, or the voters of South Carolina. Nancy Mace only cares about one person: Nancy Mace.”
According to a police report, Mace berated and cursed at airport officers after a mix-up over her vehicle description delayed an escort to her gate. Witnesses said she repeatedly used profanity, called officers “incompetent,” and yelled that she was a “U.S. Representative” who shouldn’t be treated that way. The report also notes she name-dropped other elected officials and continued shouting as she moved through the terminal.
“While our law enforcement officers put their lives on the line to protect us, Nancy Mace is busy throwing tantrums and cursing them out,” Goins added. “That’s not leadership—it’s entitlement. South Carolina deserves better than a privileged politician who thinks the rules don’t apply to her.”
