The South Carolina Democratic Party (SCDP), in collaboration with Alan Clendenin, Chair of the Democratic National Committee’s (DNC) Southern Caucus, and Susan Swecker, Southern Regional Vice President for the Association of State Democratic Committees, is excited to announce an in-person DNC Chair Candidate Forum for members of the Democratic National Committee from the Southern region.
The forum is slated for Friday, January 24, 2025, at 6 p.m. in Charleston with a reception to follow. The forum will be held at the American Theater (446 King Street). You can RSVP here.
The forum will provide DNC Chair candidates a platform to outline their vision for the party’s future, with a particular focus on strengthening the Democratic presence across Southern states and addressing the priorities of diverse coalitions essential to Democratic victories.
SCDP Chair Christale Spain expressed her enthusiasm for hosting this event, stating:
“As State Chair of the First in the Nation Democratic Presidential Primary State, I’m excited to welcome Democratic leaders from across the South who are deeply committed to advancing the priorities that matter most to our diverse communities. This forum is a unique opportunity for Southern DNC members to bring their voices, particularly those of Black and rural voters, into this critical DNC Chair election process."
DNC Members will elect new DNC officers on Saturday, February 1, 2025.
