Councilmember Stephen Bowden announced Tuesday that his re-election campaign ended the most recent fundraising quarter with strong momentum, bringing total funds raised to more than $40,000.
Bowden said the total reflects broad community support for his “results-driven approach” to smarter growth, better drainage, and faster commutes in West Ashley.
“Charleston families are investing in a campaign that focuses on real progress, not politics,” Bowden said. “I am grateful for every contribution and the trust it represents. Our neighbors expect transparency and accountability from anyone who wants to serve on City Council, and my campaign will continue to meet that standard.”
Bowden also called on his opponent, Will Connor, to promptly file all required campaign finance disclosures. As of noon on Oct. 21, 2025, Connor had not filed any of the required documents, including a Statement of Economic Interests, Initial Disclosure, or Third Quarter/Pre-Election Disclosures, according to Bowden.
“Voters deserve to know who is funding a campaign and how that money is being spent,” Bowden said. “Failure to file the required reports raises serious concerns about where the money to fund his campaign is coming from — especially given his longstanding ties to the very developers who have created the mess I’m running to solve.”
