Bethany Nemitz (pictured), candidate for Charleston County School Board District 3, today announced an array of endorsements from four councilmembers
Charleston County Councilmember Rob Wehrman (District 3) joined Charleston City Councilmembers Ben D'Allesandro, Aaron Polkey and Mike Seekings in endorsing Nemitz. Councilmembers D'Allesandro, Polkey and Seekings represent the three City Council districts on the peninsula, where Nemitz resides. The endorsements acknowledge Nemitz's commitment to strengthening neighborhood schools through years of hands-on service and her dedication to improving public education for all students.
Charleston City Councilmember Aaron Polkey writes, "Bethany has the values, tenacity, and know-how to strike a proper balance for all kids. I trust her to help finally end the era where race, zip code, and income level most determine a kid's access to opportunity."
"I am honored to have the trust and endorsement of all three City Councilmembers on the peninsula as well as the County Councilmember for District 3. As a mom and longtime community leader, I am running to ensure that Charleston County schools are equitable and thriving." says Bethany Nemitz.
Bethany Nemitz is a mother of four CCSD students, one at every school level. Her campaign seeks to strengthen neighborhood schools, enact evidence-based policies, and support educator compensation that reflects the true cost of living. Her website can be found at bethanyfordistrict3.com.
