Hundreds of Lowcountry residents will gather in North Charleston next week for the Charleston Area Justice Ministry’s annual Rally, bringing the community together for a common purpose and vision and to prepare for the highly-anticipated Nehemiah Action on May 5.
The Rally, happening Monday, March 10 at 6:30 p.m. at Mount Moriah Missionary Baptist Church (7396 Rivers Avenue, North Charleston), will outline CAJM’s proposals for addressing a number of community issues, including affordable housing, equity in policing, ethical governance in education, environmental justice, and more.
CAJM Team Leaders and Network Members have spent the past few months conducting dozens of research visits. These visits were meetings with public officials - who include Charleston County School Board Members, Charleston County Councilmembers, the police chief of North Charleston, Charleston City Council Members, topic experts, members of the community, and many others - in order to uncover solutions to these various problems. At The Rally, CAJM will share thoroughly researched policy proposals that will be presented before elected officials at their annual Nehemiah Action.
At The Rally, you can hear from CAJM leaders, local residents, and a Charleston County School Board member about their experiences navigating critical regional problems.
