Charleston County Elections is launching several summer initiatives designed to help community members of all ages get involved, learn about elections and make their voices heard.
The office is also announcing the return of its popular annual tradition for young artists: the "I Voted!" Sticker Design Contest. Now in its fourth year, the contest is open for submissions from future voters across the county.
Contest Overview
Eligibility:
- Open to all Charleston County residents entering grades K-12
Submission Period:
- Opens: Saturday, July 4, 2026, at noon
- Closes: Friday, Sept. 4, 2026, at noon
Entry Methods:
- By mail
- By email
- In person at the Charleston County Elections office or designated drop-off locations
Winning designs will be printed and distributed, while supplies last, during the early voting period for this fall's General Election. Selected artists will also receive prize packs featuring items from Charleston County Elections and local businesses.

In addition to opportunities for young artists, Charleston County Elections continues to expand programs that empower residents to support their communities directly.
The office is also reminding residents about opportunities to become a Voter Ambassador. This nationally recognized program has trained more than 220 community members, providing education on voter registration, eligibility requirements and upcoming elections.

Voter Ambassador training sessions will continue through mid-September, with the next session scheduled for July 15. Those interested may sign up online.
The initiative's success has also led to the creation of the Student Voter Ambassador Program. This three-month program gives students hands-on experience in civic engagement, outreach and real-world communications while contributing to a more informed community.
Eligibility:
- Currently enrolled in a high school, college or university
- Able to attend at least one required virtual training session
- Willing to conduct peer outreach and civic engagement activities during the program
Applications are available online. The deadline to apply is Monday, Aug. 31, 2026.
Charleston County Elections is responsible for conducting all municipal, state and federal elections held in Charleston County. The department also organizes outreach events and programs that encourage election education and community participation.
