In recognition of National Voter Registration Day, the Charleston County Board of Voter Registration and Elections (BVRE) will be conducting outreach events across the community on Tuesday, September 17, 2024. These events aim to engage, inform, and empower residents, ensuring they are registered and ready to vote in upcoming elections.
National Voter Registration Day is a nonpartisan civic holiday celebrating democracy. BVRE is committed to making voter registration accessible and providing valuable information about election processes in Charleston County. Representatives will be on-site at two events to assist with registering new voters, updating addresses, and answering questions about voting.
24th Annual Naturalization Ceremony
- Location: Charles Pinckney National Historic Site
- Time: 10 a.m.
- Details: A naturalization ceremony celebrating and welcoming our nation’s newest citizens.
Bites and Ballots: Why Vote?
- Location: Trident Technical College – Thornley Campus – Bldg. 410/Rm. 214
- Time: 12 p.m.
- Details: A discussion on the importance of voting and an opportunity to ask questions about the electoral process. All members of the public are invited to attend.
"We encourage everyone who is eligible to take advantage of this important day and ensure their voter registration information is up to date,” said BVRE Executive Director Isaac Cramer. “Every vote matters, and we want to make sure that all eligible voters in Charleston County can participate in upcoming elections without unnecessary barriers.
