On Tuesday, April 7, at 6:30 p.m., the Charleston Climate Coalition (CCC) will hold The Peoples’ Hearing to connect local advocates with an opportunity to respond to Dominion Energy’s plans to build one of the largest gas plants in the country on the Edisto River and cut a new pipeline through the ACE Basin to fuel it.
The Peoples’ Hearing will feature a livestream of the South Carolina Public Service Commission’s second public hearing regarding Dominion Energy’s proposal for Canadys, S.C., along with activities to connect with the campaign against the gas plant, and will facilitate public comments from concerned community leaders via teleconference.
The event will also feature more than a dozen speakers from local and regional organizations, including New Disabled South/New Disabled South Rising and SC Tenant Union.
The Peoples’ Hearing will be held at Parkside Church, 45 Moultrie St., Charleston.
