The Charleston Area Regional Transportation Authority (CARTA) will offer free rides to and from voting polls on Election Day, Tuesday, Nov. 4.
The initiative aims to help citizens easily and efficiently reach their polling locations. Riders can receive fare-free service by informing their driver that they are traveling to or from a polling place.
Riders can find their designated polling location at scvotes.gov. The CARTA system maps are available at ridecarta.com.
“Turning out at the polls on Election Day is among our most critical civic duties, and we’re glad to play a small role in helping folks get there,” said Mike Seekings, CARTA Board of Directors Chair. “I encourage folks to get out and vote on Tuesday, and to use CARTA to get there – free of charge.”
