Carolina Jewett, a mother of two, wife, small business owner, and former executive, today officially announced her candidacy for the Charleston County School Board's District 2 seat. Jewett said she is committed to refocusing the board's efforts on "the true priority: the education and well-being of all the children in CCSD."
"As a mother of two children in our school system, I have a personal stake in the quality of education in our district," she said.
Jewett said she believes| her business acumen and hands-on approach as a parent will bring a fresh, focused perspective to the board.
So far, the community has donated a total of $11,645 to her campaign.
If elected, Jewett said she plans to prioritize the following issues:
- Returning Focus to Education
- Empowering Teachers
- Keeping Public Taxes in Public Schools
- Supporting Students
