The Charleston County Board of Voter Registration and Elections (BVRE) is reminding voters to verify their assigned polling locations ahead of the 2024 General Election, scheduled for Tuesday, November 5, 2024. Some polling locations have permanently moved, and it is crucial for residents to be aware of these changes to ensure a smooth voting experience. Additionally, voters are encouraged to vote early at one of seven early voting centers across the county to avoid any last-minute complications on Election Day.
Permanent Polling Location Changes Starting with 2024 General Election:
- McClellanville (New Wappetaw Presbyterian Church) has moved to Lincoln High School, 714 Lincoln Rd, McClellanville, SC 29458
- Mt. Pleasant 3 (Mt. Pleasant National Guard Armory) has moved to Hilton Garden Inn, 300 Wingo Way, Mt. Pleasant, SC 29464
- Mt. Pleasant 16 (Mt. Pleasant National Guard Armory) has moved to Mt. Pleasant Fire Department Station 3, 355 7th Ave, Mt. Pleasant, SC 29464
- Mt. Pleasant 15 (Mt. Pleasant National Guard Armory) has moved to Mt. Pleasant Library, 1133 Mathis Ferry Rd, Mt. Pleasant, SC 29464

- St. Andrews 10, 14 (Pinecrest Baptist Church) have moved to Cynthia Graham Hurd/St. Andrews Library, 1735 N Woodmere Dr, Charleston, SC 29407
- St. Pauls 1 (Adams Run Civic Center) has moved to Minnie Hughes Elementary School, 8548 Willtown Rd, Hollywood, SC 29449.
Residents are encouraged to ensure their voter registration information is up to date and to confirm their assigned polling locations by visiting CHSVotes.gov. Polls will be open from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. on Election Day. The Charleston Area Regional Transportation Authority (CARTA) will also be offering free rides to all Charleston County polling locations throughout Election Day.
Absentee voters must return their completed absentee ballots to BVRE headquarters at 4340 Corporate Road, North Charleston, by 7 p.m. on Election Day.
Early Voting Availability:
Early voting is available from Monday, October 21, 2024 to Saturday, November 2, 2024, excluding Sundays, at designated early voting locations throughout Charleston County. Early voting times are from 8:30 a.m. to 6 p.m. each day. Eligible residents may vote early at any of the following centers during the early voting period:

- Election Headquarters, 4340 Corporate Rd, North Charleston, SC 29405
- Essex Village Church of Christ, 736 Savage Rd, Charleston, SC 29414

- Seacoast Church - Mount Pleasant, 750 Long Point Rd, Mt Pleasant, SC 29464
- St. John's Episcopal Church, 3673 Maybank Hwy, Johns Island, SC 29455
- St. Paul's Hollywood Library, 5130 SC-165, Hollywood, SC 29449
Live, unofficial election results will be available at SCVotes.gov once polls close on Election Night.
Citizens who are also eligible to participate in the City of Isle of Palms – Special City Council Election or the Town of Kiawah Island - Special Town Council Election can utilize the same early voting period and locations as those who are only participating in the General Election. Election Day for the two special elections is also Tuesday, November 5, 2024.
