WASHINGTON, D.C. — Award-winning documentary filmmaker Alex Holder announced on Sunday that he has spent more than four years embedded with the late U.S. Senator Lindsey Graham, capturing an unprecedented behind-the-scenes portrait of one of the most influential voices in American foreign policy during a period defined by global conflict, domestic political upheaval, and historic change.
The ongoing documentary project, currently titled Lindsey’s Game, provides a rare observational portrait of a senior public official operating at the height of his influence. First revealed in an exclusive story by The Wall Street Journal, the project features hundreds of hours of footage chronicling Senator Graham’s role at the forefront of American foreign policy across multiple presidential administrations and his involvement in some of the most consequential geopolitical events of the 21st century.
On Sunday morning, Holder appeared on CNN's Inside Politics with Manu Raju for his first broadcast interview about the project. CNN aired the first publicly released footage—including private phone calls between Senator Graham and Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, as well as former U.S. National Security Advisor Jake Sullivan.
"The level of access Senator Graham gave our team was truly remarkable," said documentary filmmaker Alex Holder. "For more than four years, we documented his work, private conversations, and closed-door meetings with world leaders and policymakers as some of the most consequential events of our time unfolded. This project will offer audiences a rare window into the private moments, relationships, and decisions behind the headlines that have shaped the public life of one of America’s most prominent and controversial political figures."
Filming began in late 2021, and the project is currently in post-production. No release date or distributor has been announced. Produced independently, the film remains under Holder's full editorial control, with all footage rights retained by the filmmaker.
