Murrells Inlet, S.C. - Waccamaw Community Foundation is pleased to announce its annual Granting Day Celebration, taking place on Thursday, October 9, 2025, from 10:00 a.m. – 12:00 p.m. at the Greg Rowles Legacy Theater.
“Granting Day is one of our favorite traditions,” said Robert Hucks, Board Chair of Waccamaw Community Foundation. “It is an opportunity not only to award grants, but to celebrate the remarkable nonprofits that work tirelessly to improve lives in our community. Each organization represented on this stage is creating lasting impact, and we are honored to stand alongside them.”
Through the years, Waccamaw Community Foundation’s commitment has remained clear: to celebrate and uplift every nonprofit partner whose dedication strengthens Horry and Georgetown Counties. During the 2025 Competitive Grants cycle, the Foundation awarded grants to 40 nonprofits across the region, supporting projects that will directly impact local families, youth, and communities.
This year’s awards are made possible through the Waccamaw Community Trust Endowment, a fund established and designated by the Foundation’s Board of Directors to provide annual open, competitive grantmaking to any 501(c)(3) nonprofit serving the Waccamaw Region, and the Elsie Beavers Carver and E. Lois Carver Educational Fund, created by the Carver family to specifically support educational initiatives through competitive grants.
“Both of these funds show the power of endowed philanthropy,” said Mike Mancuso, President & CEO of Waccamaw Community Foundation. “Because donors and community leaders chose to invest in the future, we are able to make a difference today and ensure these resources will be available for generations to come. That’s the beauty of community foundations—we connect generosity with local needs, creating solutions that last.”
Founded in 1999, Waccamaw Community Foundation connects people with the causes they care about most, helping donors create lasting legacies through charitable giving. With over $42 million in assets under stewardship and a strong record of community partnerships, WCF works to ensure that philanthropy strengthens and sustains Horry and Georgetown Counties for years to come.
