The USS Yorktown Foundation is proud to announce the appointment of Beverly Hardin as its new Executive Director and Chief Philanthropy Officer, effective September 15, 2025.
Hardin brings more than 25 years of nonprofit leadership experience with a distinguished record in fundraising, strategic planning, organizational management, and board development. Most recently, she served as CEO of Landmarks for Families, where she led a team of 53, increased annual revenue by $1.4 million, and expanded programming to include family education and reunification services.
“We are thrilled to welcome Beverly to the USS Yorktown Foundation,” said Kevin McDearis, Foundation board chair. “Her proven leadership and deep commitment to service and history make her the ideal person to guide the Foundation into its next chapter.”
In her new role, Hardin will oversee the Foundation’s daily operations and lead a multi-million-dollar fundraising campaign to bring Patriots Point’s Museum Master Plan to life. She will work closely with museum leadership, the Foundation’s Board of Directors, and staff to strengthen programs that support student scholarships, exhibit enhancements, and preservation initiatives aboard the USS Yorktown.
“The opportunity to serve as Executive Director of the USS Yorktown Foundation is truly an honor that feels like a full-circle moment in my career,” said Hardin. “This mission reflects my lifelong passion for history, patriotism, education, and service. I look forward to working with this incredible team and community to ensure the Yorktown’s legacy continues to inspire future generations.”
Hardin, a native of Birmingham, Alabama, holds a bachelor’s degree in history and political science from Brenau Women’s College and a master’s degree in public administration from the University of North Georgia. She and her husband, Bruce, a retired football coach, live in Mount Pleasant with their dog, Brady. The couple will both graduate this December with doctorates in Educational Leadership from Charleston Southern University.
