The USS Yorktown Foundation, the 501(c)(3) nonprofit fundraising partner of Patriots Point Naval & Maritime Museum, will host its 3rd Annual Holes Fore Heroes Golf Tournament on Monday, Oct. 5, bringing together 124 golfers for a day of golf and fundraising in support of the foundation’s mission to preserve history, honor veterans and inspire future generations.
This year’s tournament is especially meaningful as Patriots Point Naval & Maritime Museum celebrates its 50th anniversary.
The tournament is sold out and has generated nearly $130,000 in committed revenue to date, an increase of nearly 20% over last year’s tournament. Proceeds help fund educational scholarships for children, preservation initiatives and other projects that enhance Patriots Point.
The tournament will be held at Charleston National Golf Club (1360 National Drive, Mount Pleasant).
Flatley Heroes Raffle Honors Naval Legacy
The tournament will also highlight the Flatley Heroes Raffle, honoring the legacy of Rear Adm. James “Jim” Flatley III, a longtime leader and friend of Patriots Point who died in December 2025 and was laid to rest at Arlington National Cemetery on Sept. 28.
A naval aviator and veteran of more than 350 combat missions, Flatley later served for seven years as CEO of the Patriots Point Development Authority and executive director of Patriots Point Naval & Maritime Museum. His family’s legacy of naval service spans four generations.
Seamus Flatley, Adm. Flatley’s son and a member of the USS Yorktown Foundation board, will be at the clubhouse during the tournament and available for interviews about his father, the Flatley family’s naval legacy and the significance of the raffle.
The raffle features $4,000 in cash prizes — $2,500, $1,000 and $500 — with the drawing taking place at approximately 4 p.m. Winners do not need to be present. Proceeds benefit the mission of the USS Yorktown Foundation.
