As work progresses on Charleston County's SC-41 Interim Improvements Project, intermittent nighttime lane closures on Dingle Road will continue between 9 p.m. and 6 a.m. through Friday, July 26, with the exception of Saturday, July 20 and Sunday, July 21.
The nighttime lane closures will allow crews to relocate a Mount Pleasant Waterworks waterline in order to create a new dedicated left turn lane and a combination right and thru lane at Dingle Road and US 17. Daytime work on the Dingle Road shoulders will continue during this timeframe.
Flaggers will be onsite to direct traffic, and traffic control signs and message boards will be in place to alert drivers.
As always, drivers are asked to use caution when traveling through the work area.
The SC-41 Interim Improvements Project, now in its first phase, is designed to improve safety and increase efficiency throughout the SC-41 corridor. It includes improvements to the SC-41/US 17/Dingle Road intersection, as well as the SC-41/Joe Rouse Road intersection. All phases of the project are expected to be completed in October.
