Tri-County SPEAKS will host Light for Survivors: Community Vigil and Resource Fair on Friday, April 24, 2026, from 5 to 8 p.m. at Hampton Park in recognition of National Crime Victims’ Rights Week (April 19-25, 2026). The free, public event invites community members to come together in support of victims and survivors of all types of crime.
The evening will feature a luminary lantern walk and a community resource fair with local organizations that support crime victims, followed by a candlelight vigil honoring survivors and those impacted by crime, with guest speakers. Local organizations, including victim service providers, legal advocates and law enforcement, will be on-site to provide information about victims’ rights, available services and pathways to healing across Charleston, Berkeley and Dorchester counties.
“Light for Survivors is an opportunity for our community to stand together in recognition, support and awareness,” said Kris Rose, interim executive director of Tri-County SPEAKS. “By bringing partners and community members into one shared space, we aim to increase understanding of victims’ rights and ensure individuals know where to turn for help.”
Attendees will also have the opportunity to dedicate luminary lanterns in honor or memory of someone impacted by crime, creating a visual display of remembrance and solidarity.
The event is open to all and is designed to foster community connection while raising awareness of the rights and resources available to crime victims.
