Tri-County SPEAKS Sexual Assault Services (TCS) has entered a new partnership with the Rape, Abuse & Incest National Network (RAINN) to significantly expand access to its sexual assault hotline services across the Tri-County area. As the only 24/7 sexual assault hotline serving survivors in the region, TCS remains the region’s primary resource for confidential support, crisis intervention, and connection to care.
Beginning March 5, individuals seeking support will have the option to connect not only by phone, but also through text and online chat in Spanish and English. This expansion is designed to better meet the needs of people in the community who often prefer digital communication over traditional phone calls.
In addition to adding text and chat capabilities, the partnership will strengthen hotline coverage during overnight hours and weekends. RAINN will provide trained support specialists — including bilingual advocates — to assist in responding to hotline contacts during these times. This ensures that anyone who reaches out for help will be connected with a support specialist, no matter when they call.
“This partnership allows us to remove barriers and make it easier for survivors to access support in the way that feels safest and most comfortable to them,” said Interim Executive Director Kristina Rose at TCS. “By expanding to chat and text and strengthening overnight coverage, we are reinforcing our commitment to being there for every survivor, at any hour.”
The expanded services reflect TCS’s ongoing dedication to innovative approaches that increase accessibility, equity, and responsiveness for survivors of sexual assault and their loved ones throughout the Tri-County community.
