The Way There & Back announced today it received a $20,000 grant from the Roper Saint Francis Physicians Endowment to support and expand transportation services. The funding will increase the organization’s capacity to provide reliable rides for individuals and families facing transportation barriers to essential medical appointments, treatment-related services, hospital discharge destinations, and other critical support.
Transportation barriers are a common reason people miss or delay care. The Way There & Back helps close that gap by providing compassionate, dependable rides so community members can reach services when timing matters most.
With this support, The Way There & Back will be able to serve more vulnerable community members and respond faster when a lack of transportation stands between someone and care. The grant also strengthens connections to medical appointments, treatment-related services, and safe destinations following hospital discharge.
“We’re grateful to the Roper Saint Francis Physicians Endowment for investing in practical access to care,” said Glenn Barrett of The Way There & Back. “This grant helps us be there for people with an appointment, a discharge plan, or a critical next step—but no way to get there.”
