COLUMBIA, S.C. – The South Carolina Chiropractic Association (SCCA) is celebrating Chiropractic Health Month this October alongside the American Chiropractic Association (ACA). The SCCA is honored to announce that Governor Henry McMaster and the State of South Carolina have officially proclaimed October 2025 as National Chiropractic Health Month.
In alignment with the ACA’s 2025 theme, “Get Started with Chiropractic,” the proclamation encourages South Carolinians to consider chiropractic care as a first option and to learn more about non-drug treatment alternatives. (You can read the full proclamation here and view the group photo attached.)
“October is the perfect time to reflect on self-care—especially the vital role chiropractic care plays in maintaining health and wellness,” said Dr. Kristen Steely, SCCA president. “Though each chiropractor may have a unique technique, we are united by a shared philosophy: health comes from the inside out, not the outside in.
Spinal Health Month is a call to action:
• For those who have never had their spine checked—schedule an exam and X-rays to ensure you’re growing or aging well.
• For those who’ve fallen out of care—it’s time to get back on track with your adjustments and wellness care.”
According to the American Chiropractic Association, National Chiropractic Health Month (NCHM) is a nationwide observance held each October to raise awareness about the importance of musculoskeletal health and the benefits of chiropractic care’s evidence-based, patient-centered, and non-drug approach to wellness.
The South Carolina Chiropractic Association is a nonprofit, professional trade organization representing Doctors of Chiropractic and their Chiropractic Assistants across the state. Through annual membership, doctors support the SCCA’s mission to promote and protect the chiropractic profession in South Carolina at the Statehouse and beyond.
The 2026 membership application is now open, and new Doctor of Chiropractic members will receive 50% off their 2026 membership dues.
