The Charleston Place has officially completed the first phase of its comprehensive $150+ million reimagination. This transformation of the hotel’s 40,000 square feet of banquet space will create a new environment for meetings, conferences, weddings and social gatherings.
Drawing inspiration from the rich heritage of the Lowcountry, the newly designed spaces seamlessly blend classic charm with modern sophistication. The transformation features two new spacious 1,350-square foot meeting rooms, a second set of restrooms, expanded pre-function space, a stunning 1,100-square-foot bridal suite, and a new banquet kitchen. The banquet kitchen, located directly behind the ballroom and meeting rooms, allows the hotel to provide both buffet and restaurant-style cuisine, prepared and plated only a few feet away, for an elevated event dining experience. Additional luxurious upgrades include new light fixtures, furniture, wall treatments, carpet, and drapery, all curated in an elegant color palette.
“We are thrilled to unveil these spectacular new meeting and event spaces,” saaid Becky Hubbard, Managing Director, The Charleston Place. “As Charleston’s Living Room, our vision was to craft a versatile and refined environment that caters to the diverse needs of all groups. With these enhancements, The Charleston Place is poised to be the city’s foremost downtown locale for hosting unforgettable events.”
This transformation signifies the beginning of a multi-phased project to reimagine The Charleston Place from the ground up. The hotel remains open throughout the process, minimizing disruption to colleagues, the community and guests. Guests can look forward to future announcements detailing the ongoing transformation of the hotel, which promises to elevate The Charleston Place’s position as Charleston’s premier destination for luxurious accommodations and unforgettable experiences.
