The Charleston Place today announced that five new retailers will be opening shops within the hotel in 2024. BURU, Norton + Hodges, Over The Moon, Short Court and La Ligne will all join the existing Shops at The Charleston Place over the next few months.

Here are details on each:
Opening in late-August adjacent to the grand lobby, BURU is a small batch apparel brand designed and manufactured in downtown Los Angeles using deadstock fabrics and upcycled trims. Family-owned and operated, BURU's designer and founder Morgan Hutchinson designs exceptional garments for everyday wear. This will be the company’s first brick and mortar retail location.
Opening in September within the Meeting Street retail corridor, Norton + Hodges is a Charleston-based luxury brand offering purposefully designed handbags, accessories, adventures and experiential products that blend the wild, ruggedness of Africa with the elegance and style of Charleston. Founder Suzette Bussey created the company to reimagine classic styles with bold touches using hand-selected natural materials. Guided by the principles of sustainability and empowerment, Norton + Hodges aims to employ 80% women in their supply chain, use sustainable materials in harmony with the cycles of nature and support conservation of nature, craftsmanship and culture.
Also opening in October as an exclusive holiday pop-up shop, Over The Moon is an elevated e-commerce platform, wedding and baby registry, and editorial destination founded by Vogue.com editor Alexandra Macon. Filled with carefully curated selections from popular brands like Lingua Franca, Carolina Herrera, and Juliska, Over The Moon is designed for those who want to create a life well-lived. For this holiday pop-up at The Charleston Place, the shop will feature an assortment of giftable items, including exclusive Bauble Stockings, Ginori tabletop pieces, hand-painted ornaments by illustrator Riley Sheehey, and pajamas for the whole family. This will be the company’s first physical storefront.
Opening in October within the Meeting Street retail corridor of The Charleston Place, Short Court is an upscale apparel and equipment brand for the discerning pickleball player who values classic quality and modern design. Founded by Charleston friends and raquet sport enthusiasts Neil Thomson and Ned Johnson, Short Court honors a heritage tennis look for the modern player by marrying classic whites and grass greens with modern styling and high performance paddles. This will be the company’s first brick and mortar retail location.
La Ligne, opening in Fall 2024 on King Street, was founded on the timeless appeal of the stripe as a wardrobe staple - always classic, forever chic. The brand’s confident vision is a product of its stripe-obsessed co-founders— Molly Howard, Valerie Macaulay and Meredith Melling - with more than forty years of experience in the fashion industry between them. La Ligne's designs start with the iconic stripe but the collection doesn't stop there. You'll find a mix of the highest quality everyday essentials and seasonal statement pieces that can be styled together from dawn to dusk. This will be the brand's first retail location in South Carolina.
