Piedmont, S.C. – This Veterans Day, The Blood Connection (TBC) and SunCoast Blood Centers are joining forces to rally communities in a powerful act of gratitude—saving lives through blood donation. Together, the two nonprofit blood centers are turning appreciation for America’s heroes into action for local patients and military families.
Throughout November, both organizations will launch special campaigns dedicated to honoring service members. Across the Carolinas, Georgia and Virginia, TBC’s campaign—“Salute to Save Lives”—and SunCoast Blood Centers’ “American Donor Challenge” in Florida share one mission: to inspire communities to stand with veterans by giving the gift of life.
From November 7–11, donors who give blood at any TBC Community Blood Center will receive $30 in TBC Rewards, and TBC will donate $10 per donor to the Special Operations Patriot Fund, a nonprofit that has supported America’s warriors since 1992. The fund provides medical care, counseling and recovery assistance to veterans and their families.
“When you roll up your sleeve during this campaign, you honor veterans and save lives,” said Delisa English, President and CEO of The Blood Connection and Veteran of the Alabama Air National Guard. “Each donation delivers a dual impact—it gives patients who are running out of options a second chance at life, and it provides vital resources to veterans who have already given so much.”
Scott Bush, CEO of SunCoast Blood Centers and a proud veteran of the United States Navy, stated: “Every blood donation is a tribute to the courage and sacrifice of our veterans. By giving, our communities stand united in gratitude and action, ensuring that the lifesaving legacy of service continues in every pint donated.”
The most meaningful way to honor veterans this Veterans Day is by giving the gift of life. Every blood donation tells two stories of hope—one for the patient fighting for tomorrow and one in honor of those who fought to protect us all.
