The BEE Collective, in partnership with the Charleston Alliance for Fair Employment, will present the Pre-K Teachers Workers’ Circle on November 23, 2024, from 11 am to 1 pm in the fellowship hall of St. John Catholic Church (3921 St. John Ave).
This gathering is dedicated to supporting pre-K teachers through wisdom sharing and community building. Teachers attending will have the opportunity to engage in impactful discussions, collaborate on workplace policies, and foster a united community of educators who share common goals and experiences. Lunch and stipends will be provided to all participants.
Attendees can expect:
- The opportunity to share their wisdom as pre-K teachers in South Carolina
- Discussion about their rights as teachers in South Carolina
- The opportunity to build community by connecting with peers
- An emphasis on privacy, confidentiality, and trust
- A celebration of solidarity to push for equitable treatment in the workplace
About the BEE Collective
The BEE Collective is committed to reducing maternal and infant mortality by supporting a network of birth workers who center Black women’s rights in healthcare. Their work spans advocacy, education, and the development of a community of practice that honors ancestral wisdom while pushing for systemic changes and justice in the maternal healthcare system.
