Woodland Shores Road will temporarily close to traffic between Riverland Drive and Maybank Highway Wednesday, February 25 through Friday, February 27, as crews install improved stormwater drainage infrastructure as part of the ongoing Woodland Shores Complete Streets project.
The closure will take place daily from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. to help minimize traffic impacts during peak school and rush hour travel times.
Barricades will be placed at either end of Woodland Shores Road, and a detour will be in place (see attached) to safely guide motorists around the work area. Local access will be maintained for residents and emergency vehicles.
During the closure, residents living between 437 and 524 Woodland Shores Road should access the road via Riverland Drive. Residents living between 215 and 434 Woodland Shores Road, as well as those on Paw Paw Street, Paw Paw Place, and Carol Street, should access it via Maybank Highway.
The Woodland Shores Road Complete Streets project began in March 2025 and is expected to be completed in June 2026.
It includes 5,550 linear feet of new sidewalks and 5,000 linear feet of new and improved stormwater drainage pipes to improve pedestrian safety and reduce flooding throughout the area.
