This fall, the City of Charleston is bringing State of Our City directly to residents with five nights of community events.
At each stop, residents will hear directly from the mayor, their council members and local leaders about specific projects underway in their area, including infrastructure, public safety and quality-of-life improvements, as well as what’s ahead. Residents will also have the chance to ask questions and speak directly with the people working on these efforts.
The five-stop schedule is as follows:
- West Ashley — Tuesday, Sept. 15, 5:30-7 p.m., West Ashley High School
- Johns Island — Tuesday, Oct. 6, 5:30-7 p.m., St. John’s High School
- Daniel Island and Cainhoy — Tuesday, Oct. 20, 5:30-7 p.m., Daniel Island Recreation Center
- James Island — Thursday, Nov. 5, 6:30-8 p.m., James Island Elementary School
- Peninsula — Thursday, Nov. 12, 5:30-7 p.m., Burke High School
“We want to hear directly from residents about what’s working and what needs our attention in every part of the city,” Mayor William Cogswell said. “These events are about showing up, listening and making sure our work reflects what actually matters to the people who live here.”
