The South Carolina Captive Insurance Association (SCCIA) today announced a $20,000 gift to the International Center for Captive Insurance Education (ICCIE) in celebration of its 20th Anniversary.
The SCCIA-ICCIE Scholarships will be awarded to individuals from SCCIA member companies pursuing an Associate in Captive Insurance (ACI) or a Certificate in Captive Insurance (CCI) from ICCIE over the next four years. Details on how to apply for the SCCIA-ICCIE scholarship will be announced soon.
These scholarships will support those seeking to further their education in the Captive Industry. For years, the SCCIA has partnered and supported ICCIE through joint course offerings and integrates ICCIE into its Annual Executive Educational Conference.
“Of course this is absolutely outstanding news, and we couldn’t be more excited,” said ICCIE Executive Director Mitch Cantor. He added, “We have had a terrific relationship with SCCIA since the very beginning of our organization, and this is a wonderful example of South Carolina’s commitment to high standards in the captive industry.”
The ICCIE Scholarship announcement comes on the heels of the recently created South Carolina Captive Insurance Endowment at the University of South Carolina’s Darla Moore School of Business. The fund will provide support for undergraduate scholarships and graduate fellowships for Moore School students, specifically for students who have expressed interest in pursuing a career in captive insurance in the state of South Carolina.
Warren Miller, President of the SCCIA, says, “both of these initiatives show the SCCIA’s commitment to strengthening and growing the captive industry in South Carolina to ensure it’s long-term success. It is the goal of the Association to invest in the future of our industry and continue making South Carolina the leading captive domicile.”
