To kick off Women’s Small Business Month this October, three women-owned businesses in downtown Charleston are coming together for a weekend-long retail giveback benefiting New Morning, a South Carolina nonprofit working to expand access to family planning services for women across the state.
From Friday, Oct. 2, through Sunday, Oct. 4, Little Bird, Ladybird Books and The Tiny Tassel will each donate a portion of sales from the weekend to support New Morning.
Through its statewide No Drama program, New Morning has partnered with 120+ nonprofit health clinics and helped provide free and low-cost family planning services to more than 633,000 women in South Carolina. Their work has been linked to broader economic impacts for women in the state, including reduced poverty, increased earning power, higher educational attainment and greater labor force stability.
