Turn90 has been awarded a game-changing $2 million grant from MacKenzie Scott's Yield Giving to expand its innovative "therapeutic social enterprise" model.
By combining cognitive behavioral therapy with on-the-job training, Turn90 equips men with the skills and support they need to succeed after prison – and the results are remarkable. 88% of graduates retain employment for 90+ days, and 78% remain arrest-free.
In 2024, Turn90 plans to support 120 men recently released from prison and open a third center in Spartanburg, deepening its impact across South Carolina. The organization will also launch T90 Logistics, a business venture providing employment opportunities for graduates. This expansion comes at a critical moment as the nation grapples with the staggering costs and consequences of mass incarceration. With 62% of people rearrested nationwide within three years after release, Turn90's unique model offers a proven, scalable solution that changes lives and strengthens communities.
Turn90's transformative work has earned the organization the 2024 OneSouthCarolina Partners in Progress Award, to be presented at the Building OneSouthCarolina Forum on May 15.
