COLUMBIA - The South Carolina Hospital Association (SCHA) will host its annual “A Healthier State House” initiative on Wednesday, April 15, offering free health screenings to legislators and their staff in the State House lobby from 9:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. The event coincides with SCHA’s Legislative Luncheon.
Now in its ninth year, the initiative underscores the belief that improving South Carolina’s health begins with its leaders. By collaborating with legislators, state agencies and health partners, SCHA aims to foster a culture of wellness within the State House and inspire residents statewide to prioritize their health.
The program has engaged approximately 100 elected officials since its inception in 2015, including two former governors. It continues to grow, reflecting the state’s commitment to better health outcomes.
Through partnerships with hospitals, health advocates and state agencies, “A Healthier State House” equips officials and staff with resources to enhance their well-being and advocate for healthier communities across South Carolina.
