One of the men that Rep. Nancy Mace accused of being part of a group of “predators” in a shocking House floor speech is suing her for defamation.
On the evening of February 10, 2025, Rep. Mace accused Fort Mill resident Brian Musgrave of being a rapist, a sexual predator, and a sex trafficker during a speech from the floor of Congress. She has since republished the same accusations several times outside of the floor of Congress, through spoken words, photographs, social media posts, and, according to Musgrave's lawyers (Eric Bland and Ronnie Richter), she has also done so both directly and through third parties.
Late last month, Rep. Mace was asked to retract her allegations against Musgrave and issue an apology and/or to produce any evidence to support her allegations. Having apparently done neither, the Bland Richter law firm today announced the filing of Musgrave’s complaint against Rep. Mace for defamation of character and other claims.
"Through the lawsuit, Musgrave seeks to restore his name and reputation as he enjoyed the same prior to Nancy Mace’s false accusations," the law firm said in a press release. "As one can imagine, these accusations have not only destroyed Brian Musgrave, but have also inflicted great pain on his wife and children."
The other men Rep. Mace named on the floor of Congress have also denied her accusations.
