Berkeley-Charleston-Dorchester Council of Governments (BCDCOG) is developing a Regional Safety Action Plan, a data-driven initiative to identify high-risk areas of our transportation network for implementation of proven traffic safety solutions.
The community is invited to share their input on traffic safety concerns through a public survey, informing BCDCOG with as much data as possible. To ensure that the project reflects our diverse community, four versions of the survey are available: a General Traffic Safety Survey in English or Spanish, and a Targeted Traffic Safety Survey for individuals with disabilities in English or Spanish.
Access the surveys by visiting BCDCOGconnects.com and selecting the first project listed, Regional Safety Action Plan. Residents may complete the survey version that best applies to them. Feedback is needed by April 23, 11:59 p.m.
Each year, our region experiences a devasting number of traffic-related injuries and fatalities. It is time to shift our approach from reactive repairs to a proactive strategy that prioritizes human life above all else.
Once feedback has been evaluated, the first draft of the plan will be completed and posted for a second round of public input. Residents are encouraged to learn more about the project and follow along with progress at BCDCOGconnects.com.
