Queen Street Hospitality Group (QSHG) will be donating 5% of their sales from each of their restaurants (82 Queen, Florence’s Lowcountry Kitchen, Jalisco Taqueria and Tequila) between August 23rd to 29th to help support teachers downtown (82 Queen), in West Ashley (Florence’s), and on James Island (Jalisco) through DonorsChoose.
DonorsChoose is a website that allows teachers to set up donation requests for specific classroom needs. The site became popular in 2018 after cryptocurrency and international payment company Ripple donated $29 million to fund every single teachers wish listed on the site, part of the donation coming from Stephen Colbert, who paid for all of the donation requests in his home state of South Carolina.
