Plaintiffs in the lawsuits claim that the retailers failed to warn pregnant users of neurological risks to the fetus associated with the consumption of their acetaminophen products. Multiple studies have found an increased risk for both Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) and Attention Deficit Hyperactive Disorder (ADHD) in children whose mothers used acetaminophen consistently during their pregnancy. Some studies have linked the risk to prolonged exposure, but not small amounts of the drug.
