The Medical University of South Carolina (MUSC) has named Peter Hull (pictured) as enterprisewide chief communications and marketing officer, effective Feb. 2, 2026. In this role, Hull will direct communications and marketing strategy for MUSC and MUSC Health.
“Peter brings extensive experience in enterprise marketing and communications leadership to MUSC,” said David J. Cole, M.D., FACS, president of MUSC. “His ability to develop and execute exceptional marketing and communications programs will be an essential part of achieving our goal of becoming a leading academic health system.”
Hull joins MUSC from Florida Atlantic University, where he served for more than 10 years as vice president for public affairs and chief marketing and communications officer. He oversaw all internal and external communications, media relations, trademark management and licensing, social media, creative services, marketing and advertising, website development, Division I athletics communications, video productions, presidential communications and research and health communications.
Previously, he spent six years as Clemson University’s communications and marketing director for economic development, based on the Charleston Naval Base in North Charleston, where he was responsible for communications and marketing at Clemson’s enterprise campuses and research and education centers across South Carolina. His career also includes work as a reporter for The Island Packet on Hilton Head Island, South Carolina, and The Post and Courier in Charleston, South Carolina.
Hull is a graduate of Croydon College in London, England, and received a Master of Arts from Old Dominion University in Norfolk, Virginia.
