People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals (PETA) on Friday released the following statement regarding the USDA's report on at Alpha Genesis, a research facility in Yemassee, South Carolina:
"Alpha Genesis has been waiting and ready for this inspection, and nothing can erase its record of covering up deaths, failing to treat diseases, and its entrenched culture of disregarding monkeys’ wellbeing. This animal-exploiting company was given tens of millions of taxpayer dollars, and yet it chose to build its castle on sand, causing suffering to beings whose only ‘crime’ was being born other-than-human. One day it will collapse, and that day cannot come too soon for the monkeys and taxpayers.
PETA points out that Every Animal Is Someone and offers free Empathy Kits for people who need a lesson in kindness. For more information, please visit PETA.org or follow PETA on X, Facebook, or Instagram."
