In response to the devastating effects of Hurricane Helene on Aiken County, Pet Helpers is launching a pet supply donation drive to assist our neighbors who have been heavily impacted by the storm. The drive will collect essential supplies for both cats and dogs, such as collars, leashes, harnesses, canned food, dry food, cat litter, and more.
Donations can be dropped off at two convenient locations:
- Pet Helpers: 1447 Folly Road
- Animal Helpers Retail: 1903 Savannah Highway
Pet Helpers is proud to coordinate this effort alongside local businesses, working together to help animals and pet owners who are facing challenging circumstances in the wake of the storm. The donation drive may expand to further areas affected by Hurricane Helene as the need for assistance grows.
Melissa Susko, Executive Director of Pet Helpers, expressed her gratitude for the opportunity to support the relief efforts, saying: “We are grateful to be in a position to help our neighbors in Aiken County as they navigate the aftermath of Hurricane Helene. Fortunately, our own area was spared significant damage, and now it’s our turn to step up and assist those who were not so lucky. We are thankful for the generosity of our community and look forward to seeing everyone come together to provide much-needed supplies for pets in need.”
Pet Helpers encourages anyone interested in lending their volunteer efforts, particularly those who can assist with transporting donations to affected areas, to contact the shelter at 843-795-1110.
