The City of Charleston Department of Stormwater Management will conduct overnight construction during the week of Aug. 24 as part of the Windermere Drainage Improvement Project.
Work is expected to take approximately three to five days and will occur from 9 p.m. to 6 a.m. at the following locations:
- Culbertson Drive at Chadwick Drive/Windermere Boulevard
- Culbertson Drive at Campbell Drive
Crews will connect to the existing main waterline as part of the drainage work. Nearby residents may notice increased construction noise, lighting and equipment activity. Lane restrictions or temporary traffic controls may also be in place around the work areas.
Brief water service interruptions may occur while crews connect to the main line. Affected residents will be notified in advance.
The project is designed to reduce localized flooding and improve stormwater drainage capacity in the area. The city scheduled the work overnight to minimize disruptions to daytime traffic and neighborhood activity and to help ensure crew safety.
