Every 37 minutes, a life is saved at Charleston Animal Society thanks to the organization’s relentless commitment to spay-neuter surgeries that are transforming the future for animals across the state. Last year alone, more than 14,000 lifesaving surgeries were performed, preventing the births of tens of thousands of unwanted puppies and kittens that too often would have faced homelessness, suffering, or euthanasia.
Now, the community has a chance to DOUBLE that impact.
Through the “Operation Fix It” campaign, every donation made to Charleston Animal Society will be matched dollar-for-dollar up to $10,000 thanks to the generosity of Joye Law Firm and an anonymous friend of the animals.
“Spay-neuter is one of the most powerful tools we have to save lives before animals ever enter a shelter,” said Charleston Animal President and CEO Joe Elmore, CAWA, CFRE. “Every surgery prevents future suffering and gives countless animals a better chance at a safe, loving home.”
Last year 600,000 animals died in shelters around the country, according to Shelter Animal Count. Spay-Neuter surgeries could have prevented this needless suffering.
The impact is staggering. Every single day, Charleston Animal Society veterinary teams work tirelessly to reduce pet overpopulation throughout South Carolina. These surgeries not only help families care responsibly for their pets, but they also dramatically reduce the burden on overcrowded shelters and rescue organizations statewide.
The public is being asked to help continue this momentum by making a gift during Operation Fix It. Thanks to the matching challenge, donations will go twice as far to support lifesaving surgeries, medical care, and outreach efforts that directly reduce animal homelessness.
A gift today could help prevent hundreds of future litters tomorrow.
Supporters can donate now at CharlestonAnimalSociety.org.
Together, the community can help ensure that every 37 minutes, 365 days a year, another life is saved.
