Charleston County’s Department of Alcohol and Other Drug Abuse Services (DAODAS), commonly known as Charleston Center, has created a comprehensive public-facing dashboard that features real-time information on opioid use, harm reduction efforts, and other available resources.
This dashboard, designed to increase public awareness about the risks associated with opioid use and the resources available in the fight against the opioid overdose epidemic, compiles information from multiple Charleston County departments, including:
- Charleston Center
- Emergency Medical Services
- Charleston County Sheriff’s Office
- Charleston County Coroner’s Office
“This new dashboard is a vital step forward in our ongoing mission to combat the opioid crisis,” said Charleston Center Director Dr. Chanda Funcell. “By providing the public with real-time data and accessible resources, we hope to raise awareness of the risks, equip our community with life-saving tools, and foster pathways to harm reduction, treatment, and recovery support.”
The creation of this new dashboard was supported by funds from the South Carolina Opioid Recovery Fund.
