The Harbor Entrepreneur Center Residents Council will host The Harbor House Party, Vol. II, on Wednesday, Sept. 23, at the Music Farm in downtown Charleston.
Bringing together business, culture and community, the fundraising event will feature a founder roundtable, a marketplace showcasing local startups and a live performance by members of the Athens, Georgia-born rock group Futurebirds.
All proceeds will directly support The Harbor Entrepreneur Center’s year-round programming, accelerator cohorts and community resources dedicated to launching, scaling and sustaining local startups.
The event’s flagship roundtable will bring together business leaders to discuss the realities of building and scaling high-impact companies. Panelists include:
- Adam Wexler, founder of EightState Studios and PrizePicks, North America’s largest daily fantasy sports operator.
- Larry Place, chief operating officer of 8AM Golf, the holding company behind brands including GOLF Magazine, Miura and McLaren Golf.
- Mary Welch Fox Stasik, founder of Mary Welch Fox Design and host of HGTV’s “Breaking Bland” and The Design Network’s “Apartment Therapy.”
- Daniel Womack, co-founder and musician with Futurebirds.
The discussion will be moderated by Stephen Scates, founder of Scates Freight and chair of The Harbor Residents Council. Scates will also play drums during the Futurebirds Trio set.
Designed as a fundraiser and showcase for Charleston’s innovation economy, the event will provide Harbor resident companies and local small businesses with visibility among operators, investors, media representatives and community leaders.
“Charleston has a real builder community, and this night is designed to elevate and invest in our local founders,” Scates said. “By coming out to support The Harbor, you get a great performance from the Futurebirds Trio, an incredible room of operators and a chance to fund the next generation of Lowcountry entrepreneurs. The event will run from 5:30 to 10 p.m. at the Music Farm, 32 Ann St. Ticket options include:

- Amplified Access — $125: Includes admission to the founder roundtable and Futurebirds Trio performance.
